The 2015 QAILS Conference is taking place 25 to 27 May, 2015 at the Park Regis Hotel, North Quay, Brisbane.

The QAILS conference is the premier event in the community legal centre calendar. Conference delegates will have the opportunity to meet with a diverse range of people including centre directors, social workers, lawyers, volunteers and decision makers.

The conference will provide delegates with an opportunity to develop and strengthen their skills, increase their knowledge and network with people working in the field.

There will be a variety of presentations, panel discussions and workshops focusing on a broad range of issues relevent to community legal centre staff and the wider legal community.The program is being finalised and will be available soon.

The conference will take place over three days and delegates have the opportunity to register for the full conference or just one day. Staff who work at a community legal centre who are a member of QAILS can come at a discounted price.

The Conference Dinner

The Conference Dinner will be held at On Quay Restaurant at the Park Regis Hotel, North Quay on Tuesday, 26 May 2015 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. This is one of the most popular events in the conference calendar and the event is always well attended. The ticket price includes a two course sit down dinner as well as beer, wine and soft drink for a two hour period.

New Practitioner Drinks

Delegates who are starting their careers and students thinking of working in this field will come together to network with senior practitioners. The event will be held on Monday 25 May starting at 6.00pm at the Trans Hotel, George Street, Brisbane. The ticket price includes a drink on arrival as well as canapés throughout the night.

Pro-bono lawyers breakfast

If you are thinking of volunteering at a community legal centres or currently do and want to network with like-minded people then this is the event for you. The event is taking place Tuesday 26 May 7.30am – 9.00am at the offices of DLA Piper Australia and participants will have the opportunity to enjoy a hot buffet breakfast as well the chance to hear from people who volunteer at a range of centres specialising in different areas of law.

Who can attend at the members price?

Can I attend only one day of the conference?
Yes, to register for a one day conference pass go here.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?
Yes, another person can attend the event in your place.

What is the refund policy?
There are no refunds availalbe if you are unable to attend the conference or associated event.  You are welcome to send someone else in your place. 

The name on the registration/ticket doesn’t match the attendee. Is that okay?
Please email the details of the person attending in your place so that we can update their name tag and registration details. The email address you should use is communications@qails.org.au.

When does the early bird price end?
The early bird price is availalbe up until 23 April, 2015.

What are my public transport options getting to the conference?
Park Regis North Quay is a three minute walk from Roma Street Station – a key transport hub.

Can I stay at the conference hotel?
Delegates attending the conference can stay at the Park Regis Hotel, North Quay at a discounted price. Accommodation starts at $190 for a one bedroom city view apartment, including breakfast for up to two people.
