Dr Kieran Tranter is a Senior Lecturer with Griffith Law School, Gold Coast Campus, Griffith University. He has been a Gold Coast local for over 10 years, previously based at the College of Law at the University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle.

He researches and publishes on the technology and law and has a particular interest in Australian social security law. His teaching areas are administrative law, civil procedure and law reform.

He has been involved with the National Welfare Rights Network, the Gold Coast District Law Association, Welfare Rights Centre (Inc) and Legal Aid Western Australia and is currently the Higher Degree Research Convenor for Griffith Law School.
